What we never receive

LightCurve computes in your browser. The measurements, orbits, CAD models, histories and results you work on are read and processed on your machine and are never sent to our servers.

This website

The website sets no cookies, loads no analytics or advertising script and embeds no third-party content; fonts are served by the site itself. We keep no visit statistics. The contact form sends nothing by itself: it opens your email client with a prepared message, and what you write to us is used only to answer you.

Accounts of the application

DataWhyKept
Email address, name, organisation, role; password as a scrypt hash, never in clearSigning in, licence of your organisation, invitations and password resets (performance of the contract)While the subscription runs, then deleted within 3 months of its end
Log of sign-ins (including failed ones) and administrative actionsSecurity of the accounts (legitimate interest)12 months
IP addressBlocking repeated failed sign-ins15 minutes, in memory only; never recorded

The accounts are stored in the European Union, at OVH SAS. They are shared with no one; the invitation and password emails are sent through the OVHcloud email (OVH SAS, France). Nothing is transferred outside the European Union.

Cookies of the application

The application sets two cookies, both needed for the service you ask for, so no consent is required: lc_session keeps you signed in (at most 7 days) and lc_lang remembers the language you chose (1 year). Neither tracks you.

Third-party requests

When you download orbital elements from the TLE panel, your browser asks CelesTrak (United States) for them directly, which then sees your IP address.

Your rights

You can access, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to its processing and ask for a copy of it, by writing to contact@lightcurve.space. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority — in France the CNIL (cnil.fr).
